This four poster bed was made for the Rusk Family in the Fall of 1836. After the death of Rusk's wife and his subsequent death one year later, the bed eventually became a part of the Isaac Lewis and Martha Moore Lewis' household in the Press Switch Community 2.5 miles south of Nacogdoches. Seven of the Lewis' family children were born in the bed.
