This
off-white
woman's
bonnet
has a
bill
with
multiple
rows
of
stitching
in
cream
thread
arranged
in
groups
of
three
. The
bonnet
has
ties
on
either
side
of the
bill
, and
ruffled
portions
to
cover
the
wearer's
neck
and
hair
. The
edging
of the
bill
, the
ties
, and the
attached
ruffle
are
trimmed
with
tatting
.
Scope and Content Note
It was a gift of Bob Anderson of Nacogdoches, Texas. It belonged to his wife's grandmother. It was donated in July of 1942.
