Description	This dark brown leather wallet has five interior sections including a coin case with a metal closure, a tabbed pocket, and receipt slots.
Scope and Content Note	Leather wallet owned by Reverend George Crocket in circa 1890. A motivating influence in the early study of eastern Texas history, George Crocket wrote Two Centuries in East Texas and became Professor Emeritus of History at Stephen F. Austin State Teachers College in 1929. Crocket traveled widely and sketched everything he experienced. Not only did he document the architectural history of both Nacogdoches and San Augustine, but the people and places of local and distant origins. Reverend Crocket was Rector at the Episcopal churches of San Augustine and Nacogdoches and his sermons open a window on the religious teachings in rural East Texas of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Crocket was involved in the formation of the Boy Scouts of America in San Augustine and helped shape many of the institutions that make up modern life in eastern Texas.
