ended

state
senator
for the
Nacogdoches
district
in
1866
. He was the
editor
for The
Nacogdoches
Chronicle
from
1866-1868
. He was a
member
of the
Christ
Episcopal
Church
and in
1870
he was the
Sunday
School
Superintendent
at the
church
. In
1874
, he
became
the
State
Librarian
Superintendent
of
State
Capitol
grounds
&
state
property
in
Austin
.
Voigt
died
in
1880
when
he
drowned
in the
Angelina
River
while
traveling
home
to
Nacogdoches
.
