rivers
in
southwestern
Texas
.

specifically
, this
map
turtle
can
be
found
in the
Guadalupe
River
and a
number
of its
tributaries

including
the
San
Marcos
and
Blanco
Rivers
. The
Cagle's
Map
Turtle
is
protected
in the
state
of
Texas
as a
threatened
species
.
Map
turtles
get
their
name
from the
contour
markings
and
concentric
rings
adorning
the
carapace
.
Map
turtles
are
omnivorous
and will
eat
a
variety
of
insects

mollusks
,
