Description
The
Buttermilk
Racer
is
a
non-venomous
species
of
racer
snake
named
for the
buttermilk-colored
spots
that
it
develops
on its
dorsal
side
. Its
range
is
limited
to
southern
Arkansas
,
Louisiana
, and
eastern
Texas
. The
diet
of this
snake
consists
of
lizards
,
frogs
, and
small
rodents
. The
spots
on the
Buttermilk
Racer
are
highly
variable
:
Some
adults
have
several
spots
while
others
have
only
a
few
.
Still
,
others
may
appear
a
creamy
rather
than
bluish-black
color
with
black
spots
.
