Kingsnakes
are
commonly
kept
as
pets
. In the
wild
, they
can
be
found
in a
wide
variety
of
habitats
,
including
marshy
areas
,
woodlands
,
deserts
, and
grassy
farmlands
at
lower
elevations
in the
western
United
States
and into
western
Mexico
. The
California
Kingsnake
will
eat
small
mammals
,
lizards
,
eggs
,
small
birds
,
frogs
,
salamanders
, and
even
other
snakes
.
