The
Texas
Banded
Gecko
is
usually
encountered
in
rocky
terrain
in
southwestern
Texas
,
southern
New
Mexico
, and
northeastern
Mexico
.
It
can
be
distinguished
by
other
geckos
by the
presence
of
functional
eyelids
and the
absence
of
toe
pads
. The
Texas
Banded
Gecko
climbs
very
little
in
comparison
to
other
geckos
and
is
most
often
encountered
in
arid
regions
sheltering
under
debris
during
the
day
or
crossing
roadways
at
night
.
