Southern
Red
Salamanders
are
usually
found
beneath
rocks
and
leaf
litter
in
swampy
areas
. They have also been
known
to
burrow
towards
water
. The
Southern
Red
Salamander
is
rarely
encountered
near
fast-moving
bodies
of
water
. This
species
has been
known
to
feed
on
other
salamanders
as
well
as
spiders
,
insects
, and
worms
.
