Description
The
Mole
Salamander
occupies
shallow
permanent
or
ephemeral
ponds
with
abundant
submerged
leaf
litter
and
vegetation
. These
salamanders
are
sometimes
found
inside
and
underneath
fallen
logs
during
the
fall
rainy
seasons
of the
eastern
and
central
United
States
. The
Mole
Salamander
will
eat
anything
smaller
than
it
that
it
has the
ability
to
overpower
,
including
insects
and
spiders
.
