Description
The
Mediterranean
Gecko
is
mostly
nocturnal
and
is
usually
seen
scaling
the
walls
of
buildings
at
night
where
it
forages
for
insects
. The
Mediterranean
Gecko
is
the
only
gecko
in the
United
States
that has
elliptical
pupils
. As
suggested
by its
name
, the
Mediterranean
Gecko
is
not
native
to the
United
States
.
However
,
unlike
many
invasive
species
,
no
major
ecological
impact
has been
observed
as a
direct
result
of its
introduction
.
