This light blue glass fire extinguisher held water and fire retardant chemicals that could be released when the container was thrown at the base of a fire to shatter, and extinguish flames. One end of this oval container has been resealed.
The sadiron is a forged, pointed block of iron with a flat bottom and a thick handle. Used for pressing and ironing fabric, it was the precursor to the electric steam iron. The iron was heated over an open fire or other heat source.
