Buckthorn barbed wire is steel ribbon fencing with one smooth edge and one pointed edge; barbs are spaced at one inch intervals. T.V. Allis was issued patent 244,726, dated July 26, 1881.

This framed white neck scarf is designed with a brown eagle holding a blue and gold shield. Beneath the shield the words "Honor to the brave" are lettered in black, and the piece is dated July 4, 1846.
