This video collection includes programs hosted by Norman R. Johnson, a longtime radio talk show host, entertainer, and author.

Radio personality Norman Johnson holds a unique place in East Texas history. He was the first known Elvis impersonator who performed in East Texas and on road shows with various Louisiana Hayride stars. Johnson also performed with country music stars such as Jim Reeves, Johnny Cash, Ernest Tubbs, Marty Robbins, and with Elvis Presley.

Born in in 1940 in Gilmer, Texas, Johnson made his professional singing debut at age three during a local bank Christmas party. At age eight he did his first live radio broadcast in Gladewater.  He attended Lon Morris College, Stephen F. Austin State University, and Southern Methodist University.

Johnson's career included a variety of work as a disc jockey, radio and television talk show host, manager of radio stations, church pastor, and recorder of his own albums. He was the recipient of seven Texas legislative proclamations, a member of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame, and a founder of the Nacogdoches Community Coalition.  Johnson died in 2014 in Nacogdoches.
