The Corrigan Heritage Center Project includes images of artifacts, historic data, and genealogical materials that preserve the history of Corrigan, Texas. The materials were collected and cataloged through the efforts of local leaders of Corrigan and the Center for Regional Heritage Research at Stephen F. Austin State University.
Located in Polk County, Texas, Corrigan was settled in 1881 and is named for Pat Corrigan, the conductor of the first train that ran through the community. Development of Corrigan was the result of a growing lumber industry in East Texas and the Trinity and Sabine Railway which was built through the town.
