Community members play an integral role in collection development by providing institutions with archival material. However, it is also important for many families to keep their documents within the family. Community Collections is our way of bridging the needs of our researchers and our donors.
The collection consists of digitized documents, photographs and artifacts owned by community members who have graciously allowed digital access to their personal archives. All originals stay with the family. The material in this collection is just as varied as our community and ranges from the 18th century weapons to African American life in 20th century Nacogdoches.
