Personal Information	Sam Black Stripling was born in Nacogdoches County on February 14, 1872 and later moved to the town of Nacogdoches in 1894. He was employed as a druggist with the Perkins Brothers, a drug firm. In 1901, Stripling started his own business and retired from the business in 1952. Stripling was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches.
Family Information	Sam Black Stripling married Elizabeth Wright and after Elizabeth's death he married her sister Josie Wright. Benjamin Joseph Stripling and Narcissa Johnson Stripling were parents of Sam Black Stripling. Sam Black Stripling and Elizabeth Wright Black had five children named Sam Jr., William Benjamin, Frances Jane, Morgan "Mack" Malcolm, and Elisabeth.
