Personal Information	Diedrich Anton Rulfs was born in Oldenburg, Germany on March 6, 1848. In 1880 Diedrich, his wife, and other family members arrived in Nacogdoches, Texas. In 1884, Rulfs bought a block of property on East Main Street and built his home there. On July 26, 1887 Diedrich Anton Rulfs applied for American citizenship. Rulfs made handcrafted furniture and worked with his half brother, William Rulfs, on several buildings such as Liberty Hotel, Zion Hill Baptist Church, and Christ Episcopal Church.
Family Information	Gerhard Wilhelm Rulfs and Helene Margarete Katherine Stindt Rulfs were the parents of Diedrich Anton Rulfs. Diedrich Anton Rulfs and Johanne Ewilie Helene Wilelmine Boschen Rulfs had six children named Emily, Gerhardt William, Dr. Carl Henry, Edward Anton, Mary, and John A.
