Personal Information	Jesse H. Summers was born on October 19, 1848 in Mississippi and in 1850 he moved with his parents to Nacogdoches, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and became close friends with pastor Dr. A. J. Holt. Summers fought in the Confederate Army during the Civil War and returned to Nacogdoches in July 2, 1864 to marry Miss Emma Elizabeth Richardson. Jesse H. Summers went into the mercantile business and later entered the lumber business. He was a member Milam Lodge No. 2, which he joined in 1872.
Family Information	Thomas H. Summers and Alpha Talitha Martha Powers Summers were the parents of Jesse H. Summers. Jesse H. Summers and his wife, Emma Elizabeth Richardson Summers, had ten children named Minnie, William Frank, Thomas "Tom" Holloway, Joseph Elbert, Jesse Hubbard, Pearl, Sallie Talitha, Emma Richardson, Maggie, and James Robert.
