Description	The Girl's Dormitory construction started on September 6, 1938. Residents moved into Gibbs Hall, the first all female residence hall on campus. The $200,000 building located on Clark Boulevard was constructed with Public Works Administration funds. The 70 rooms housed 140 students, had a large dining hall, a large parlor, three small parlors, a laundry, and a boiler room. The hall was named after Eleanor H. Gibbs the first art teacher at Stephen F. Austin State University. Gibbs Hall is currently used by the SFA Residence Hall Association.
