CONLON - Executive Director * * SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 14, 1981 MONDAY, DECEMBER 14 (House meets at noon) Instruction of Defense Appropriations Conferees -- It is anticipated that conferees will be appointed on H.R. 4995 , Defense Appropriations for FY 1982. It is also expected that a motion will be made to instruct the conferees to insist on the House position on the level of funding for Title IV (procurement) and Title V (research and development). D.C. Bond Authority -- H.R. 4910, District of Columbia Bond Authority is scheduled for consideration (page 1). Coast Guard -- The House will complete consideration of H.R. 2559, Coast Guard Authorization (page 3). Petroleum Allocation -- H.R. 4700, Standby Emergency Petroleum Allocation Authorization, will be brought to the Floor (page 4). TUESDAY, DECEMBER 15 (House meets at noon) Suspensions -- Sixteen bills are scheduled for consideration under suspension of the rules (pages 11 - 22). ANY DAY Social Security Minimum Benefit -- The conference report on the Social Security Minimum Benefit, H.R. 4331, could be brought up at any time -- including today (Monday) -- if the conferees reach agreement Monday morning as expected . A Floor fight is anticipated if the conference agreement fails to restore the minimum benefit for future retirees or otherwise reduces Social Security benefits. A DSG Supplement will be available prior to Floor consideration if possible. Toxic Substances -- The conference report on S. 1211, Toxic Substances Act, may be brought to the Floor (page 23). (over)

Biographical Note | Congressman Charles Wilson began his political career in 1960 when he was elected to the Texas House of Representatives. He served in the Texas House of Representatives for six years and was then elected to the Texas Senate in 1966. On November 7, 1972, the second district of Texas elected Charles Wilson to the U.S. House of Representatives. He retired from the U.S. House of Representatives in 1996. |
