UPDATE ON GROUP POSITIONS
ON FAST TRACK CONFERENCE REPORT
The following is an update on group positions on the con­ference
report on S. 1308, Priority Energy Projects Act of 1980
("Fast Track" bill). Groups which were not included on the front
page of DSG Fact Sheet No. 96-41, June 24, are underlined.
The conference agreement is supported by the Administration,
AFL-CIO, National Farmers Organization, Edison Electric Institute,
American Gas Association, Association of General Contractors, and
u.s. Chamber of Commerce.
The agreement is opposed by Environmental Action, Environ­mental
Defense Fund, Environmental Policy Center, Friends of the
Earth, National Wildlife Federation, National Resources Defense
Council, Sierra Club, Solar Lobby, Wilderness Society, Audubon
Society, ACLU, Congress Watch, Defenders of Wildlife, Council
of Energy Resources Tribes, National Farmers Union, National Con­sumer
Law Center, United Steelworkers, National Association of
Wheat Growers, National Conference of State Legislatures, and ADA.
The motion to recommit is supported by most of the groups
which oppose the conference report and by the National Associa­tion
of Counties, League of Women Voters, National League of
Cities, Common Cause, National Cattlemen's Association, and
National Governors' Association.
