Description	Joseph Baker fought in the Battle of Mansfield in Louisiana on April 8-9, 1864. he wrote a letter after the battle and sent it to his family in San Augustine. In this battle the Confederates were able to turn back the Union army and prevent an invasion of Texas. On April 10th his division marched to Arkansas where they fought in the Battle of Jenkins Ferry. Joseph Baker was killed there on April 30, 1864.
